The Punx of Springfield

Fan artist Dean Fraser, who specializes in turning pop culture icons into characters from The Simpsons, draws as if he were the creator of the Simpson character design. Of course the cast has gone through the natural metamorphosis of quality like every cartoon character does (including mine), but Dean has got the style locked. He’s effective created an entirely new genre around the symbolic style and mannerisms. Here’s Dean speaking about his website “Springfield Punx”

Springfield Punx is a little pet project of mine. The idea of doing fan art parodying some of my favorite characters and stars in such a fun and simple style got me hooked immediately. Some of these guys and gals have appeared on the Simpsons and I could just work from that, but most I had to do from scratch. Check back often for new Punx!
